Creative Logo & Application

I saw this logo on Identity Designed. Here it is - what are your first impressions?

I have to admit that I didn't really like this when I first saw it. I thought the whole overlapping ribbon idea was a strange effect. It sort of makes the text look too busy for my tastes. But then I saw the application of the logo, and I changed my mind and decided that, overall, this identity is very creative. Would you agree? Look at these things:

The ribbon motif carries over, but on the stationery and business card, it is much more simple, interesting, and abstract. I love the creativity! I think adding the continual, overlapping design makes the logotype not so bad. It flows well together.

And I really love this double page spread of what I assume to be the branding guide for the logo. Isn't this a great pattern?

Creative & cool. And I love the colors. They seem strong and industrial, but modern and fun enough that they don't look foreboding or intimidating. And turquoise and gray are always good choices in my book.

If you want to see more, please check out the post on Identity Designed. What do you all think of both this logo and the way it is applied?

wow, I really like this design! I agree with you about the over-busyness of the font standing alone. But with everything else, it works really well. Good colors.
