I've been seeing lots of neat craft ideas around the internet, so I thought I'd do a post sharing some of my favorites. I hope you are inspired to do something handmade for this holiday season!
I really like this cool wreath idea for fabric flowers. Just use red and green fabric, and it would make a funky Christmas wreath! I'm also thinking that these flowers from Kitschy Digitals might work really well printed out and used in this wreath idea. Tutorial here.
Another cool idea I found were these Christmas tree decorations. There are lots more ideas at the original post. You can access that here. Aren't the colors fun? I'm enjoying these non-traditional Christmas color palettes. But the traditional colors are good too.
This gift wrapping idea is neat, too. Isn't this an adorable package? The ribbon was stamped with a homemade eraser stamp - what a neat idea! You can find out how to make the stamp right here.
This next idea is not a tutorial... just something cool in someone else's post about it. It's from West Elm, and it's a pretty neat paper wreath! You can buy it here if you're interested.
Even though there are no instructions for the wreath, I was thinking that it wouldn't be too hard to make one like it with paper snowflakes. In the example, all the snowflakes are exactly the same, but it might be fun to try it with different styles of snowflakes - or even different colors of paper! You could just glue the snowflakes to a cardboard circle, or if you're feeling ambitious, sew them on to some kind of frame.
Here's another neat Christmas tree decoration idea... magazine Christmas trees from Martha Stewart Crafts! Aren't these neat? They look so simple and elegant, but have a slight retro feeling to them. You can get the tutorial right here.
I think these handmade flowers are great! They would be so cute on a package. You could make them red and green for Christmas, or any color for a more funky look. Tutorial here.
These button snowman cards from Martha Stewart are also really cute. The tutorial is right here. Again, it's a fairly simple-looking idea, but really neat!
Here's a cool, eco-friendly gift wrapping idea: newspaper gift bags! There's a convenient tutorial right here, and you'll be making some really cool looking bags. See?
This last idea is one that I really, really love! These creative tins are so kitschy and fun, but it's not hard to do at all. Aren't they so neat? The tutorial is here. You could download the patterns like the tutorial suggests, but I think it would also work just to use regular doilies and affix them to the top of a tin.
I hope you like these ideas! It's been fun collecting them for you.
