I really love ModCloth. It's an online clothing & accessories store that is super fun to browse around and find treasures on. I've blogged about it before. But recently I ordered something from ModCloth, and I just wanted to share my experience and some of the neat graphics I encountered in the process.
The item I bought came in a cardboard box with the ModCloth logo stamped on it in light blue. I like this logo, and I think it's neat that they used a color to stamp on their boxes (more interesting in my mind compared to something like Amazon which uses black ink on boxes).
I also like how big the logo is on the box. No one could miss that this box came from ModCloth.
But what's even cooler is the inside of the box. Never have I seen the inside of a cardboard box look so amazing! Usually, there's no printing on there at all, but ModCloth chose to print a fun loopy line pattern on the inside in the same blue shade as the logo.
SO FUN. I love it. This little touch really makes the box stand out as something unique, and it speaks to the fact that ModCloth really seems to care about quality and good design. Even the inside of their boxes look great.
And there's one more thing about the ModCloth box I wanted to show you. It may seem rather mundane, but I thought it was interesting: even the recycling logo on the bottom of the box is blue! I personally think this makes the symbol look more different and interesting.
I also wanted to highlight the tag on the dress I ordered because I thought it was quite well designed.
Isn't that a great font? I love the use of the ampersand with the abbreviation for "company" as well. It makes for a more modern looking design, even though the typeface is serif, which usually looks more old fashioned. The lower case letters also add to the modern look. I also like the use of white/blank space in this. It looks nice and simplistic, but not boring. (By the way, the white stripes on the top and bottom are the wall in the background of the picture, not part of the tag. I just noticed that looked kind of confusing.)
I had a great experience with ModCloth and I was quite impressed with their creative use of design on their box. The tag (although it was presumably designed by a different company) is excellent too. It was a fun surprise to find such good design wrapped up in my box from ModCloth. What do you all think of these things? I'd love to hear your opinions!
P.S. Happy birthday to my friend, Ellie!
