Layered Poster

I was playing around with some layering techniques in Photoshop and came up with a poster design for you all. First, I wanted to show you the elements of the poster so you see what went in to the final copy. I wrote it like a math problem just for fun - great how you can use something so seemingly un-artistic as math for artistic purposes. :)

A picture of a map from a museum.

+

A picture of a window.

+

A picture of a finial on a railing.

+

A texture photo of tree bark.

+

The background to an old photo.

+

A picture of grass.

+

The font Arimo.

+

Lots of editing, blending modes, groups, and general fiddling around in Photoshop...

A poster!

I had such fun playing around with layers, as it's different from my "default" type of design which tends to be colors and fonts. I do really like that style, but it was fun to do something more photo-oriented, and I always love seeing how all these different images combine.

If you would like to download this poster, you can do so HERE. Please enjoy the poster, but keep it for personal use only.

I'd love to know what you think of this design!

Wow, Carrie! That is so neat! I'm sure it sounds so trite, but I really love all of your ideas!
