Now that Thanksgiving is over, I think I can blog about Christmas without breaking any unspoken rule. It seems so strange to me that Christmas decorations start going up in stores just after Halloween...so I wanted to make sure I waited until it was really the Christmas season before I shared holiday fun on the blog.
I am very excited for Christmas! I've seen so many cool holiday things around the internet for the holidays already, so I wanted to do a post with pictures + links to some fun things.
I love this gift wrap kit from Sweet Findings on Etsy. It's a lovely combination: kraft bags, doilies, silhouettes, and red baker's twine. I love each of the elements individually and also how they all coordinate so nicely. I'd love to get a package wrapped like this!
Shanna Murray has some neat holiday decals, which I saw speed around the web at lightning tempo. I found them on Oh So Beautiful Paper, Design*Sponge, and Poppytalk. So I guess the hat tip goes to all three. These decals are so simple and pretty. I like the typography a lot!
There are some really cute Washi tape holiday ideas on The Sweetest Occassion (via Poppytalk). I love the colors in these projects!
I found some modern gingerbread houses on Present&Correct recently in a post aptly title "Modernistmas." Gingerbread houses are a fun tradition, and this take on them is really cool. The first one reminds me a bit of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Tad Carpenter (of Yeah! Burger fame) has some nice holiday designs out. I like his funky, retro looking cards. The color scheme is very cheerful looking even though it uses some darker colors. I like the gold mixed with the blues. They're for sale here.
He also made a holiday game to match the cards which I think is really cute. The typography on the spaces is really good - I think I spy some Futura. You can even buy the game here.
Oh Happy Day, a blog I've been enjoying lately, featured two advent printables by Amanda Jane Jones that I think are so wonderful and festive. These iron-on designs to be transferred onto cotton muslin bags are really cool. I love how they look on top of the cute little pouches! The different typefaces for the numbers make for an eclectic look.
These advent box labels are cool, too. While the red and green of the first design is great, I like the creative, nontraditional color scheme of these, too. The same typography technique, with different number styles, is used here and I like that - I think it makes things look happy and cheerful.
I've come across two holiday e-magazines that are really lovely. Anthology Magazine has a free holiday issue that has some feature articles and gift ideas and is just generally pretty to look through. (Found via Design*Sponge.)
And Ruche has some fun holiday ideas in A Homemade Holiday. The issue contains craft ideas, recipes, and gift ideas, along with some Ruche clothing items.
Poppytalk and Bloesem have some gift guides out, too. It's fun to look through the different gift picks. One image from the Poppytalk gift guide...
And one from the Bloesem gift guide...
What do you all think of these Christmas things? Do you have a favorite thing from the post? I'd also love to hear about any holiday links and ideas you've been enjoying lately!
