Danielle Kroll

I like Danielle Kroll's design work a lot. She has some lovely projects in her portfolio. Not everything is something I'd recommend, so you can decide whether you want to browse through her whole portfolio. But I'm quite glad I ran across her site via Karli Ingersoll's blog, and I'm excited to feature some of her projects today! Her logo (above) is really pretty. I like the cross stitch look paired with just one color: gray. It is detailed, but still understated and not too busy.

My favorite items from her design category are some things designed for Anthropologie. I love this advertisement and custom soap that Danielle designed for an event by Anthropologie. The design itself is great, but the fact that it was for Anthropologie makes me excited, too. The style goes perfectly with Anthropologie's persona. Delicate, cheerful, and somewhat vintage.

I like the way the label on the front works with the bright pattern. If the pattern covered the whole thing, it would be a bit much, but with the label, it looks cheerful without being overpowering. And the engraved typography in the soap is pretty cool!

This print item for another event at Anthropologie is excellent as well. I like the layered letters and how the layout is similar to the first item with the pattern and label combination. This piece also fits Anthropologie to a T. The typefaces match their style just great!

I also like the watercolor look mixed with bright colors. Those two things together make a good combination.

Danielle's Let it Snow paper cutting is so very, very cool. I think paper cutting like this is so impressive. And, oddly enough, it was also done for Anthropologie! I just love the typography and the detail of the design.

Wow. This paper cutting is just so cool.

Some of her other type work is nice, too. I like this birthday design because of it's bright, cheery colors and style!
The typography is great - a similar custom style to the one used on the paper cutting.

I also love some of her patterns, for instance, these two from her illustrative category. The colors are so pleasant and cheerful.

They look hand-drawn and full of ease, but they're not careless or messy either. They are just such happy designs.

These two from Danielle's abstract collection of patterns are really neat too. The first one is so fun and modern, and I'd use the second one is so elegant. I like how these two contrast so well - they really show the diversity of the types of patterns Danielle has done.

What do you think of Danielle Kroll's work? I'd love to know if you have a favorite from among the things I've featured or what you think of her style.
