Business Card Love

Business cards are so interesting because they can be real works of art even though they're very small. I thought I'd share a few examples of cool business cards I've run across. There are so many creative ideas out there!

First up, Juan Madrigal's business card (seen on FPO). I really like the patterned circle - it has an optical illusion kind of look, I think.

And then the other side is simple and typographic. I love the simplicity of the entire design, but how the bright blue provides just the right amount of interest and color pop. The blue edges are a small detail, but they really make a difference in the design.

I absolutely love these yellow letterpress cards for a writer (via Oh So Beautiful Paper). You know I'm a fan of letterpress and yellow, so these are right up my alley (and I happen to love writing too!).

I love so many things about this design. The type is one: the handwritten but uniform font is a really cool style, and I love the way the speech bubble is repeated on the other side but the colors are different. And the idea of leaving space for notes on the back is really cool!

These sparkly cards for Julie Pop Bakery are very fun, too. (Found through Lovely Stationery.) They were designed in several different metallic colors.

I think the combinations in this business card are very interesting. Cursive + typewriter font, metallic paper + recycled looking kraft paper, elegant front + earthy reverse side. It's an unusual combination, but I think I like it.

The Tom, Dick, and Harry business card (via FPO) is another example of creative business card styles.

The letterpress is cool, and it's an interesting idea to lay the information out in a grid pattern. I like that the front side of the card is very simple - the it keeps the card from being too busy.

I never would have thought of having a circular business card, but this one for Sydney's Cakes (via Lovely Stationery) is excellent.

I really like the typography, and the border is really nice. The color scheme looks a lot like a 1940's kitchen which is a really fun style.

And finally, if you're looking for tons of business card inspiration all at once, check out this image by the Camille Styles blog (via Oh Happy Day). It highlights some business cards from the Alt Summit conference.

Some of these are just so cool! For more details on a few of the cards, check out the post on Camille Styles. Do you have a favorite business card from among these? Also, if you want, you can also check out a past post on business cards.
