Anna Hurley

I found Anna Hurley's design and illustration work via Design Work Life, and I really like her style. I have so many favorites from among her portfolio, but I will just feature a few and let you browse more of her work if you so desire.

Her work for 826 Day is lovely. I love the typography in this image:

The type looks retro, and so do the colors. The circle seal is a really nice look as well! This piece, also for 826, is very cute and vintage looking. I like the distressed paper appearance.

And there are instructions for an origami airplane. How cool is that?

Other projects of Anna's that I really like are some business cards she's designed, both hers and some for others. I like her elegant, vintage, style. The style seems similar to letterpress even though these cards aren't letterpressed so far that I know.

I like how all these business cards are simple and yet also interesting in their design. They each only have two to three colors and not a lot of extra artwork, but they are still visual interesting.

This journal is also very fun and cheerful looking. I like how the color looks printed on kraft color - very eco-friendly looking.

The illustrations are so happy, cute, and whimsical. And I think it's fun how this journal is double-sided...and that they are upside down from each other. I'd love to write in this journal, although usually my big ideas and hair-brained schemes look pretty similar!

Finally, I just love Anna Hurley's small illustrations series. Flip through all of them if you'd like, but here are a few favorites.

I love how the colors all match and how all the illustrations are approximately the same size. It could be hard to really portray that these are "small illustrations" in digital format, but Anna Hurley has done that well by showing them against a big white background.

I hope you like Anna Hurley's work like I do. What do you think of her work?
