Pugly Pixel, Etc.

Another blog recommendation here.  I recently discovered Pugly Pixel, a very neat graphic design blog with free downlods and tutorials.  I love the sweet, vintage, style of everything on this site.

Katrina, the blogger responsible for Pugly Pixel, does great work in Photoshop and provides plenty of fun free and "premium" (membership-only) downloads.  For instance, you can download handkerchief graphics at this post, and some fun flowers at this post. 

What I love about this blog is not only the content and free goodies, but also the presentation of the aforesaid content and goodies.  All the samples for the downloads are well-designed with fun, vintage typography, and even the download links are presented with a typewriter font backed by fun colored blocks.

She also posted a video lesson recently about blog design that I found very insteresting.  You can view it here if you're interested.  I highly recommend it.

But that's not all.  Katrina of Pugly Pixel also has other blogs, such as Pugly Feet and 10 Pretty Things.  First off, Pugly Feet is a photoblog with only pictures of Katrina's shoes on various backgrounds.  It's a simple project, but it's fun to look at her photographic composition and the various backgrounds in the photos.  As for 10 Pretty Things, it's a place where Katrina posts 10 things in different categories (outfits, bow ties, glasses, etc.).  It reminded me a little bit of my Friday Finds series.

I've been in contact with Katrina a little bit lately, and she's been so kind!  She even followed my blog, which I really appreciate...I love it when people follow my blog.  It's so fun to interact with other bloggers as I keep my own blog going.
